Blogging has become pretty popular in the past few years. You can find a blog on just about any subject.
But is blogging right for you and your business?
A few things to keep in mind:
You should blog a minimum of twice per month.
You should keep blogging consistently.
Aside from being a little time-consuming, using a blog can keep your customers engaged.
It’s also a showcase where you can present yourself as an expert in your field.
Some businesses have started using blogs as another means of marketing their business. And others have made businesses out of their blogs.
Blogs can also be used to bring in additional money using passive income streams such as affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts.
These rewards can be a simple as a free monthly premium membership to a companies services, or it can be monetary like a one-time dollar amount or a monthly recurring percentage.
The best way to use affiliate marketing in conjunction with your business is to become an affiliate with products and services you use in your business and then blog about them.
For instance, I may write a blog post about software I recommend for running your business, and mention Freshbooks as a great tool I use for time tracking and invoicing.
Then, anyone who uses my link to Freshbooks, and purchases a membership, I would then get a reward.
But, in order to make the best of blog marketing, you need to know every aspect of it.
You need to know what needs to be done to get readers to your blog, how to write about the things that you are promoting and how to get it up in search engine rankings using SEO.
SEO is search engine optimization and it consists of optimizing your blog so that the search engines will find it when someone searches for one of your keywords.
If you feel that you do not have time to write your own blog or learn SEO, hiring someone to do this for you might be something that you want to consider.
With all this said, I still highly recommend starting a blog for your business and start with the minimum.
You just never know where it may take you.
